Brody's Mom: Viral Experience '90 Percent' Positive
Ali Criz discusses how her son's 'what-wasn't-supposed-to-be' viral Bar Mitzvah invite video came to be.

Brody Criz’ viral bar mitzvah invite video was written and put together by Xpress Video Productions and was not intended for a worldwide audience, Ali Criz, Brody’s mother, told the Chicago Tribune.
“It didn’t cost as much as people think,” the Deerfield mom of three said. “We were on a budget like anyone else.”
While saying the experience has been about 90 percent encouraging and supportive, Ali responded to notions some have made that the video was a mockery of Judaism.

“We weren’t expecting, obviously, the video to go viral,” she said. “We were not trying to make a statement on Judaism, or offend anybody.”
The video was just supposed to be a gag, something a little unique that other kids weren’t doing when inviting others to their bar mitzvah parties.
