Water Board Honors Longtime Reporter

Veteran Lake County reporter Ed Collins was presented an engraved resolution enacted by the North Shore Water Reclamation District Board that honored Collins’ 55-year career in journalism.

Collins, a resident of Deerfield, covered the District and several other local governments for mote than 15 years before his retirement in 2014 - according to a guest post on the Deerfield Patch Facebook page.

He is pictured here with Dan Pierce, President of the North Shore Water Reclamation District Board and a Highland Park resident.

According to Pierce, Collins was known for being “fair,” but “tough and thorough.”
