The Goddard School of Deerfield Helps Local Children Through Partnership with Cradles to Crayons

At The Goddard School of Deerfield, teaching children about kindness and community is just as important as teaching early literacy, science, and math. Each year, our school proudly participates in a donation drive benefiting Cradles to Crayons Chicago, giving our families the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for children in need throughout the Chicagoland area.

Throughout the summer, families are invited to donate diapers, wipes, and gently used children's clothing for infants through toddler sizes. While these essential items may seem small, they have a tremendous impact on local families facing financial hardship. Every donation helps provide children with the basic necessities they need to thrive.

The Goddard School of Deerfield is proud to be part of a larger community of Chicagoland Goddard Schools that support this annual initiative. Together, our schools collect more than 40 large boxes filled with diapers, wipes, and children's clothing each year. Those donations are distributed by Cradles to Crayons Chicago to local children and families who need them most.

For our students, this partnership is also an opportunity to learn valuable lessons about generosity, empathy, and helping others. Children see firsthand how a community can come together to care for its neighbors, reinforcing the importance of compassion and giving back from an early age.
