DHS Wrestling Team Wins 9th Straight Conference Title

A whitewash against Glenbrook North kept the streak live for the Warriors.

DEERFIELD, IL - The Deerfield High School varsity wrapped up its ninth consecutive Central Suburban League championship Friday night with a shutout against Glenbrook North.

The Warriors beat the Spartans 74-0 to capture the championship. Both the junior varsity and freshman teams from Deerfield also won conference titles this year, both finishing league play undefeated.

On the varsity level, the team only lost four of the 70 matches they competed in all year. According to Coach Marc Pechter, one of the losses was an injury default in a match where Deerfield had the lead.
