Drive-Thru Coronavirus Testing Now Available In Deerfield D109
The school district is offering the free testing for students and staff at the district office on Deerfield Road.

DEERFIELD, IL — Deerfield Public Schools District 109 announced Thursday that it is now offering on-site COVID-19 testing for current DPS 109 students and staff with results generally available the next day. The testing will be offered outside the District Office at 517 Deerfield Road in a drive-thru format.
A testing professional will perform the test using the Anterior Nares Nasal Swab, according to a release from the district. The cost of testing is being covered by the district.
"This will be a major resource for our district as we seek to have minimal disruptions to our educational environment. Having results the next day will allow us to isolate potential cases faster," Eric Steckling, DPS 109 director of communications, said in the release.

Testing is only available with a referral from nurses or administrators working in any of our six buildings. Individuals can be referred if they display COVID-like symptoms at school or before they come to school, or if they come in contact in a DPS 109 facility or school bus with an individual that tests positive.
“We are really encouraging families to call our building nurses and leadership teams right away if they suspect any COVID-like symptoms. Our teams are prepared to walk families and our staff through the proper steps,” Steckling said.
