Palatine Man Arrested On Sex Assault Warrant: Riverwoods PD Blotter

The 25-year-old had warrants for 3 counts of criminal sexual assault, 2 counts of aggravated domestic battery from an incident last year.

RIVERWOODS, IL — The following information comes from the Riverwoods Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Pedro Basurto Solorza, 31, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is accused of speeding, open transportation of alcohol, driving while license revoked, driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 11:26 p.m. March 8, near Lake Cook Road and Portwine Road. He was released on a $3,000 bond and was assigned a court date of April 12.

CRIMINAL SEXUAL ASSAULT

Matthew R. Aronson, 25, of Palatine, had a warrant from the Riverwoods Police Department for three counts of criminal sexual assault, two counts of aggravated domestic battery, and was taken into custody at 11 p.m. March 9, at a hotel by Downers Grove police. The incidents occurred on Dec. 22, 2022, in Riverwoods. He was taken to Lake County Jail and a court date of March 21 was assigned.

THEFT

Marquell D. Clark, 36, of the 900 block of S. Oak Park Avenue, Oak Park, had a warrant charging him with six felony offenses in relation to his part of a financial crime involving the theft of checks from a Riverwoods business that was reported in October 2020. He was arrested at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 23, near his residence. The stolen checks were forged and deposited into an account held by another in the state of Kentucky, with a loss to the business in excess of $21,000. Clark, a former contract employee for the involved business, was taken to Lake County Jail for a bond hearing. The investigation by Riverwoods police detectives remains ongoing.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

  • Police responded at 7:31 p.m. March 5, to a residential burglary alarm in the 2700 block of Forest Glen Trail. Police discovered that a residential burglary had just occurred. Offenders utilized a rock from the property to break a rear glass door and gain entry. It is unknown what, if anything, is missing at this time. The incident is under further investigation.
