Takeda Cares Day Raises More Than $70,000 For Chicagoland Nonprofits
Employees Collectively Run or Walk More Than 2,000 Miles for Charity

On Friday, October 3, Deerfield’s Takeda Pharmaceuticals hosted its fourth annual Takeda Cares Day – an employee appreciation and community fundraiser event. Held on the trail that encircles the company’s campus, more than 700 employees ran or walked the 5K course to raise funds for three local non-profits. For each employee who participated, Takeda donated $100 to one of three, pre-selected community organizations of their choice with approximately $73,500 raised in total.
Takeda strives toward better health and a brighter future through leading innovation in medicine for people worldwide. This commitment is magnified when its employees engage in events designed to promote health, such as Takeda Cares Day. The event also brings an opportunity for employees to make a difference in the community, in addition to their personal efforts, through Takeda’s corporate giving programs, which align with the company’s three focus areas – health, science education and community vitality.
