Thief Robs Gas Station's Cash Register: Riverwoods PD Blotter

Police said an employee was busy elsewhere in the store when the burglary occurred.

RIVERWOODS, IL — The following information comes from the Riverwoods Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Jacinto Malcipa Ortega, 27, of the 600 block of Sheridan Drive, Wauconda, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, improper lane usage, driving with a suspended license, and was arrested at 1:12 a.m. Aug. 20, near Milwaukee Avenue and Chicory Lane. He was released on a $3,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 20.

FORGERY

Nirza Chambo Saenz, 52, of the 4200 block of N. Bloomington Avenue, Arlington Heights, had an outstanding warrant out of Lake County for forgery, and was arrested at 4:27 a.m. Aug. 21, near Milwaukee Avenue and Pekara Drive. Bond was set at $25,000.

INCIDENTS

BURGLARY/THEFT

Police responded to a Mobil gas station, 2201 Deerfield Road, at 7:49 p.m. Aug. 9, for a reported theft of money that had just occurred. The suspect reportedly removed cash from the cash register while the attendant was busy elsewhere in the gas station. The suspect fled from the area on foot, and police were unable to find him.
