Terrace Principal Earns Doctorate

The School District 62 Board of Education recently honored Terrace principal Bradley J. Stein for earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Illinois Chicago.  Dr. Stein holds a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Roosevelt University and a bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University.

Dr. Stein began his administrative career with School District 62 as the assistant principal of Algonquin Middle School in 2006.  He was appointed principal of Terrace Elementary School in 2009. Prior to coming to District 62, Stein taught fifth grade at Thomas A. Edison School in District 69. In 2003 he won a National Education Association (NEA) Innovative Grant for a technology-immersion program that constituted a yearlong research-based project and culminated in an iMovie presentation by his students.  Dr. Stein began his teaching career in 2000 as a Summer School Teacher and was later hired as a Permanent Substitute Teacher at Roosevelt Middle School in River Forest School District 90.

Community Consolidated School District 62 educates over 4,700 students in eleven K-8 schools.  773 certified and support staff work together to educate the district’s children.
