Consulate General of Pakistan in Chicago observed Pakistan Day
Pakistan Day commemorates the passing of the Lahore Resolution March 23, 1940, when the All India Muslim League demanded a separate nation.
Consulate General of Pakistan in Chicago celebrated the 81st Pakistan Day and flag hoisting ceremony on March 23rd, 2021
In her remarks on the occasion, Acting Consul General Ms. Murk Abro conveyed felicitation messages of the President and the Prime Minister. She highlighted the importance of the Pakistan Day and said that 23 March is the day of commemorating the valiant struggle of Muslims of the sub-continent for a separate homeland that began with the historic Pakistan Resolution of 1940, and culminated in the attainment of freedom seven years later. They rendered countless sacrifices under the dynamic leadership of Quad-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and overcame tremendous odds.
She further said that Pakistan of today was embarked upon a path to progress and prosperity and the Government was committed to establishing a society which was based on compassion and justice.

The Acting Consul General also reiterated that on this day, we should not forget our Kashmiri brethren, who have long been victim of Indian state terrorism and are forced to lead a life of misery. She reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to continue our political, diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmir cause at every international forum.
She commended the services and contributions of Pakistani Diaspora, which continue to positively contribute to the socio-economic development of not only their adopted country but also to their motherland as they teem with nationalistic pride. Referring to their valuable contributions during the ongoing Pandemic in helping their communities and society, she expressed her confidence that Pakistani-American community will continue to play their role with same vigor. She assured them that the Government of Pakistan recognizes the Pakistani Diaspora as an asset and is committed to ensuring their welfare by initiating policies to involve them in economic and governance activities.
