Des Plaines Bank Robbery: Serial Suburban Bandit Strikes Again
FBI: The same man has robbed five banks in six and a half months.

DES PLAINES, IL — The same man who robbed a bank in Des Plaines Friday afternoon has also robbed four other suburban banks so far this year, according to the FBI. The serial robber most recently struck the Fifth Third Bank at 845 S. Elmhurst Rd.
The FBI is seeking help from the public to identify the man, whose face has been clearly visible in each of the robberies he has conducted. He was described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and between about 25 to 35 years old. In each instance he did not display a weapon and only the teller was aware the robbery was taking place.
Most recently, he donned a black coat, blue jeans, a black shirt and brown shoes with white soles. He can be seen wearing sunglasses in surveillance images from each robbery, although they have not always been on his face. Previously, witnesses have said he appeared to be wearing foundation makeup, according to the FBI. (Get Patch real-time email alerts for the latest news for Des Plaines — or your community.
