
“Herbs” will be the featured program at the Des Plaines Garden Club’s February 11th. meeting, held at the Frisbie Senior Center, 52 E. Northwest Hwy. Sara Rose, a naturalist and member of the staff of Trailside Museum of Natural History in River Forest, IL, will tell us the history of herbs, uses and making salves and lotions from them. At 11:00 a.m. bring a sandwich and our Hostesses will provide us with additional treats, which will be followed by our raffle. Meeting begins at 12:00 p.m. Bob Nicholson, our Horticulturist will tell us how to “Dig & Dine.” ‘Growing our own food.’ We will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Self Help Closet & Food Pantry.
