Copies of Empire of the Summer Moon by S.C. Gwynne are now available at the readers services desk at the Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood Street. Empire of the Summer Moon is a stunningly vivid historical account of the 40-year battle between the Comanche Indians and white settlers for control of the American West. The book centers on Quanah, the greatest Comanche chief of all.
