Find out about Oakton’s health care careers at free information session

Oakton Community College will host a free information session on its health career options on Tuesday, Sept. 13.

Learn about opportunities in the rapidly expanding health care field by attending a free information session starting at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Oakton Community College’s Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Avenue (Room P103). This overview is open to the public and showcases Oakton’s degree and certificate programs.

The college offers a variety of programs varying in length from one semester to more than two years. Classes are conveniently available days, evenings and weekends at Oakton’s Skokie campus, as well as the college’s Des Plaines location, 1600 E. Golf Road.

Oakton’s health career options include basic nurse assistant training, elder care support, health information technology, horticultural therapy, medical assistant, medical coding and billing, medical laboratory technology, nursing, pharmacy technician, phlebotomy and physical therapist assistant programs. Some programs allow students to continue their education at Oakton, while others prepare students to transfer to four-year universities for advanced degrees.
