Junior Achievement Brings "JA in a Day" to Des Plaines Cumberland School

Local officials visited Cumberland Elementary School in Des Plaines as part of the Junior Achievement (JA) in a Day Program a press release from the school states.JA in a Day classes hosted at Cumberland School focused on “building a community.” The local JA Program includes students Kindergarten – Grade 12. 

The Program was designed to help facilitate a partnership between agencies/ companies and local schools to educate and inspire students regarding success in the workplace.

Des Plaines area Junior Achievement Coordinator Alia Asiaban, Cumberland Principal Colleen White and Cumberland School Teacher Sharon Michalsen welcomed Des Plaines City Clerk Gloria J. Ludwig into the Third Grade classroom where they discussed local government and the elements that comprise a healthy City.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for students and City leaders to interact and share experiences. It is a worthwhile, fun exercise,” City Clerk Gloria J. Ludwig commented.
