Musician to perform ghost songs at Coffee Talk at Des Plaines History Center

Musical Coffee Talk, "Great Lakes Ghosts," Thursday, November 12, from 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Entertainer and historian Lee Murdock returns to the Des Plaines History Center, 781 Pearson Street, to present the musical Coffee Talk, “Great Lakes Ghosts” Thursday, November 12, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Murdock performed wartime songs at the History Center last July.

He will narrate a concert that features songs of supernatural legends and spooky tales of ghost ships and haunted lighthouses—all of which he swears are true. The musician’s website says: “Murdock has uncovered a boundless body of music and stories in the Great Lakes. There is an amazing timelessness in this music. Great Lakes songs are made of hard word, hard living, ships that go down and ships that come in.”

After the Coffee Talk, guests are welcome to stay and view the exhibit, “World War II: Des Plaines and the War against Fascism,” which will remain on display at the History Center through December.
