Oakton hosts tryouts to cast roles in Edward Albee play
Audition for "Seascape" 6 - 9 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16 and Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Oakton's Des Plaines campus

Performing Arts at Oakton encourages local actors to audition for the upcoming production of Edward Albee’s Pulitzer Prize winning play “Seascape.” Open calls are scheduled 6 - 9 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16 and Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Oakton’s Studio One Theater, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines. No appointment necessary.
The production is a provocative, absurdist look at marriage and culture. A middle-aged American couple entering retirement takes a vacation by the sea to examine their relationship and discuss their future. However, the pair find themselves drawn into an intriguing relationship with another couple who are remarkably different from themselves.
The director is seeking two women and men ages 20 - 65. Actors will be required to prepare a contemporary monologue (less than two minutes long) or be prepared to read from the script. Monologues need not be memorized.
