Oakton presents staged readings of Wendy Wasserstein's "Third"

The Performing Arts at Oakton performs staged readings of "Third" on May 7 and May 8.

The Performing Arts at Oakton brings Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Wendy Wasserstein’s final play to life with staged readings of “Third.” Performances are scheduled 8 p.m., Saturday, May 7, and 2 p.m., Sunday, May 8, at Studio One, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.

“Third” examines the core values of a well-established professor at a prestigious liberal arts college after she accuses a student of plagiarism. The event and its aftermath causes the professor to reflect on whether or not she is living the values she teaches. The play grapples with issues of stereotyping and identity politics, as well as generational and family issues.

Tickets are $8 for general admission. To get yours, call 847-635-1900 or purchase online at www.oakton.edu/tickets.
