The Des Plaines Art Guild opens its 62nd season on Tuesday, September 8th with a demonstration to be done in oil pastels by renowned artist Didier Nolet. The meeting takes place at 7:00 pm at Prairie Lakes Community Center, 515 E. Thacker Street in Des Plaines.Born in Paris, France, Mr. Nolet studied painting at the Beaux-Arts, then moved to Chicago in 1979. His landscape and seascape paintings reflect his memories and imagination. He has won numerous awards and his work has appeared in galleries and exhibitions nationwide. Mr. Nolet is an art instructor at various art centers in the Chicagoland area and also teaches privately. The public is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served and there is no fee, but donations appreciated. To join the guild, download a membership form at dpag.org.
