Stop District 207 from Releasing Lisa Jacob as Director of Maine West
District 207 is making a mistake. Lisa Jacob is an incredible educator and the public deserves answers.

If you have known Lisa Jacob, you have been blessed. The inspiration she has given countless students, adults, and others goes unmeasured. Whether you are new to Maine West, were on Orchesis 20 years ago, or just a fan, she has been there for you.
Over the last week news has broke of her being released as Director of the program. From what we have heard, a dancer was injured, didn’t tell Lisa, continued to dance, and then said she was too scared of Lisa and only performed because she made her. The school then decided to take the parent's side without a proper investigation. Again, this is only speculation as the administration has refused to answer any questions about her removal.
To hear that Lisa Jacob is losing her position as the head of Orchesis is disturbing. Lisa Jacob is the heart of the program. In my opinion, she is the heart of Maine West. After hearing the supposed reason for her firing, I am even more baffled. Lisa Jacob has always put the safety of her students first. Any insinuation that she does not, in my opinion, does not align with her almost 30 year track record that includes hundreds of students. This administration should be ashamed of itself for not supporting a woman who has given her life to Maine West High School.
I ask everyone to sign this petition to demand District 207 administration reconsider their decision to release her from her position as head of Orchesis. This is not the first time District 207 has turned their back on dedicated educators, and if we don’t take a stand, it will not be the last. It would be a disservice to all students to let go one of the best role models I have ever had the pleasure to be taught by.
