The ComEd Green Region Grant will help the park district enhance the 5.8-acre park with new landscaping made up of native plants.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A $10,000 from ComEd will help the Downers Grove Park District (DGPD) make upgrades to Patriots Park. The grant, part of ComEd's Green Region Program, will help fund efforts to restore the parks' pollinator habitat and improve aesthetics.
“Patriots Park is truly a gem of Downers Grove and is already a popular spot for bird watching, fishing and enjoying nature," DGPD superintendent of parks Mike Stelter said in a news release.
He added, "The Patriots Park Pollinator Habitat Restoration Project will enhance our park goers’ experiences by providing a place to observe wildlife utilizing a restored habitat.”
