2 Homes Burglarized In 2 Days In Downers Grove

Police say the suspect or suspects broke in through windows and took jewelry and other valuable items.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Police in Downers Grove are investigating two residential burglaries that took place within just days of one another. The first incident was reported Wednesday in the 1900 block of Hitchcock Avenue and the second burglary took place Thursday in the 4700 block of Forest Avenue.

The victim of the Hitchcock Avenue burglary told police that she came home to find that someone had shattered the sliding glass door of her house. Police got to the scene to make sure the home was safe and told the victim to call them if they determined later that anything was missing.

On Thursday, a resident who lives in the 4700 block of Forest Avenue told police that he had come home after being gone for an hour to find that someone had forced their way into the back window of his house. The resident told police that the following items were stolen:
