2 Killed In Separate Hit-And-Run Crashes In West Chicago

A teen boy was killed Saturday and another individual was killed Tuesday in hit-and-run crashes, according to multiple reports.

WEST CHICAGO, IL —Two people were killed in hit-and-run crashes in a span of four days in West Chicago, according to police.

The first fatal hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian Saturday evening in the 900 block of Hawthorn Lane. Police were called to the area around 6 p.m. and were at the scene until just before 10:30 p.m. Investigators returned to the scene Wednesday morning and were advising commuters to avoid the area.

The person who died in Saturday's crash was identified as 16-year-old Aurora resident Julio Salinas-Pino.

Late Tuesday night, West Chicago police responded to a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a bicyclist on Joliet Street. The crash took place between Routes 38 and 59. The identity of the bicyclist was being withheld Wednesday afternoon pending notification of next of kin.
