3 Cars Burglarized, Items Stolen From Home Depot: Downers Grove PD

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Items were stolen from Home Depot and three cars were burglarized, according to the most recent Downers Grove Police Department crime blotter.

Car Burglarized in 3200 Block of Finley Road

A woman told police her car was burglarized while it was parked in the 3200 block of Finley Road on October 28. The woman said she parked the car around 8 p.m. When she returned to the vehicle around midnight, she said she noticed someone had broken the window on the back passenger side. A red leather wallet containing ID and credit cards was reported stolen, in addition to an iPad.

Retail Theft at Home Depot

Police were called to Home Depot at 2000 Butterfield Rd. on Halloween for a report that a man was stealing a Milwaukee M18 S tool kit valued at $299. The incident took place just after 4:30 p.m.

Car Burglarized in 1700 Block of Ogden Avenue

Two laptops and clothing were stolen from a van that was burglarized while it was parked in the 1700 block of Ogden Avenue, according to police. The victim told police the vehicle might have been unlocked when the burglary took place, sometime between 12 p.m. on Oct. 29 and 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 31. The total loss was valued at more than $7,000.

Car Burglarized in 1600 Block of 75th Street

A woman told police that her van was burglarized while she was parked at Ashyana Banquets, 1620 75th St. She told police she parked the van around 12 p.m. on Oct. 30 and returned around 2:30 p.m. to find someone had broken the front passenger window. Police say a leather wallet containing credit cards and $150 cash was stolen.
