36 Bottles Of Jack Daniels Stolen From Store In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Police say a woman and man stole 36 bottles of Jack Daniels whiskey from the Jewel on Ogden Avenue in Downers Grove.

According to the police report, the woman came into the Jewel at 1148 Ogden Ave. around 9:15 p.m. on Jan. 28. A worker reported that they were stocking a shelf when they heard the "clinking of bottles," the police report said.

The employee told a cashier to watch for the pair while they made a phone call to police. No one reported having seen the shoplifters leave, but they were seen getting to a dark-colored SUV and fleeing west down Ogden.

The total cost of the stolen items was $1,007.64.
