The Downers Grove Roadrunners Girls' U12 Select team came out victorious from round robin competition at the prestigous Illinois Youth Soccer Association's Illinois State Cup tournament. Following initial seeding and round robin play, they competed against three top-notch teams – Ela Select, GLSA Select and Raiders FC. Their impressive efforts earned them the honor of being one of the top 4 teams in Illinois and the opportunity to continue on to the semi-finals. The team's defense was especially impressive, allowing only one goal in the three games. The girls are coached by John Hannan, Director of Coaching for Roadrunners Soccer Club.
The team started its IYSAL State Cup journey by finishing as Tournament Champions at the Eclipse Select Spring Classic, challenged by top club teams from across the midwest and the Chicago suburbs.
