Attempted Bank Robbery In Downers Grove, Man In Custody
Police say he slipped the teller a note demanding money.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — One person is in custody after an attempted robbery at a bank in Downers Grove Monday. Simeon Harris, 35, of Chicago, has been charged with attempted robbery and burglary in connection with the incident, which took place at West Suburban Bank on Main Street.
According to a police, Harris came into the bank just after 5:30 p.m. and passed the teller a note that read, "This is a robbery. No silent alarms, No die packs or trace money. Empty drawer."
The teller reportedly told Harris they were unable to open the drawer, which prompted Harris to take back his note and flee the scene.
