Back To School: Downers Grove District 58 Calendar For 2023-24

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Downers Grove Grade School District 58 with calendars available to help parents prepare their children for a smooth transition into the 2023-2024 school year.

The first day of school for District 58 students is set for Aug. 23.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. We also suggest that you check the District 58 calendar and your child’s individual school calendar regarding conferences, open houses, meetings, exams, early dismissals, athletic and other school events.

Starting Aug. 28, early dismissal will be in effect at 2 p.m. on Mondays for students in kindergarten through sixth grade and at 2:10 p.m. on Mondays for students in middle school.

Below is the list of dates to know for the 2023-24 school year:

Aug. 22: School begins

Sept. 4: Labor Day, no school

Oct. 12: Parent/Teacher Conferences from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Oct. 18: Parent/Teacher Conferences from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Nov. 17: Trimester Ends

Nov. 22 - Nov. 24: Thanksgiving Break, no school

Dec. 25 - Jan. 7: Winter Break, no school

Jan. 15: MLK Jr.'s Birthday, no school

Feb. 19: President's Day, no school

Feb. 1 and Feb. 7: Parent/Teacher Conferences from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

March 19: Possible e-learning if schools serve as polling places

March 25 - March 29: Spring Break, no school

May 24: Last Day of School

Student emergency days are scheduled May 28 through June 3.
