District 58 Plans Summer Maintenance Projects
District 58 maintenance staff will spend the summer completing a variety of projects around the district.
When school is out for summer, District 58’s maintenance staff kicks things into high gear to complete a variety of projects. The major projects underway this summer are:
- Concrete sidewalk repair at Henry Puffer School, Herrick Middle School and Pierce Downer School
- Curb repair at Herrick
- Installation of a new roof at Henry Puffer
- Relocate stage curtain supports at Henry Puffer
- Sealcoat new asphalt walks at Fairmount and Highland
- Scrape and paint designated walls and ceilings at all schools
- Overlay with new asphalt a handicapped walk at Pierce Downer
- Inspect all 28 boilers in District 58
- Inspect bleachers at Herrick and O'Neill middle schools
- Safety inspections of all playground equipment
- Heating systems coil cleaning and valve replacements
- Double door replacement at Herrick outside equipment storeroom
