Brats, Brews, Tunes, Contests Planned For Downers Grove Oktoberfest

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Bratwursts, beers, lederhosen and live German music will set the stage for Downers Grove Oktoberfest 2022, which will be held downtown Sept. 16 and Sept. 17.

The hours for Oktoberfest are as follows:

Sept. 16: 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Sept. 17: 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.; ticketed event 6:15 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Kids' Zone from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Below is the schedule of live music and entertainment planned for Oktoberfest.

FRIDAY

3 p.m.: Live DJ music from Angel Song Entertainment

4 p.m.: Sucker Punch

6 p.m.: Briley

6:30 p.m.: Thrill Pill

8:30 p.m.: Syahi

9 p.m.: Reckless—Chicago

SATURDAY

Saturday's festivities also include an appearance by Chuck E. Cheese and a live broadcast by 95.9 The River, which kicks off at 2 p.m.

12 p.m.: Live DJ music from Angel Song Entertainment

1 p.m.: Donut Eating Contest

1:30 p.m.: Frank K. and Company

3:30 p.m.: Bratwurst Eating Contest

4 p.m.: TARRA

8:30 p.m.: Tina and Raj Duo

9:30 p.m.: Freddy Jones Band

The Oktoberfest menu features traditional German fare, including knackwurst and bratwurst, Bavarian soft pretzels, chicken schnitzel with gravy, roasted corn, German chocolate cake and apple strudel. Hot dog meals will be available for kids.

Oktoberfest just isn't Oktoberfest without beer! This year's selection features Sam Adams Oktoberfest, Paulaner Oktoberfest, Revolution Oktoberfest, Tangled Roots Vermillion River Weiss, Hacker Pschorr and Miller Lite.

Kids 17 and under get into the festival for free with a paying adult. Veterans and active service members get in for free. The following ticket prices apply:

• $10 for adults Friday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. ($15 for adults with a souvenir beer stein)
• $5 for seniors Friday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• $30 for general admission all-day tickets Saturday
• $25 for general admission tickets to enter after 6:15 p.m. Saturday
• $75 for VIP tickets to see Freddy Jones Band Saturday; includes a swag bag containing a 15-ounce beer stein, a poster, a glossy photo, a souvenir lanyard and a souvenir guitar pick
