After Hours Film Society Presents Dick Biondi: the Voice that Rocked America

Event Details
In the 1950s and ’60s, rock ’n’ roll swept across America, driven by the power of radio. But it was the disc jockeys who held the real sway: deciding what records to spin and, in doing so, shaping the soundtrack of a generation. With bands vying for airplay and DJs battling to be number one, an original and irreverent voice cut through the noise: the Wild I-Tralian, Dick Biondi.
Filmmaker Pamela Enzweiler-Pulice will be onstage at the end of the film for a Q&A.
Organist David Rhodes and the Mighty Wurlitzer preshow concerts welcome attendees as they arrive. The organ lights up 30 minutes before the screening, so come early and enjoy the music!
A discussion will follow the film.
