Car Burglarized, Catalytic Converter Stolen: Downers Grove Blotter

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A Louis Vuitton handbag was stolen during a car burglary, a catalytic converter was removed from another vehicle and other crimes were reported on the most recent Downers Grove crime blotter.

Car Burglarized in the 1600 Block of 75th Street

Police say someone smashed the back passenger window of an Acura MDX and stole a Louis Vuitton handbag valued at $2,570. The incident took place between 8:15 p.m. and 9:20 p.m.

Credit Cards Stolen from Wallet at Extended Stay

A man told police he believes someone stole a Nordstrom and Macy's credit card from his wallet while he was at Extended Stay hotel, 3050 Finley Rd. He said the theft took place sometime between Sept. 18 and Sept. 20.

Catalytic Converter Stolen from Car at Chama Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse

A catalytic converter was stolen from a car that was parked in the lot at Chama Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse. The victim told police he saw a gray or brown Chevrolet or Nissan sedan park next to his car and then saw a passenger get out and walk toward his car. The theft happened sometime between 10 p.m. and 10:57 p.m. on Sept. 21.
