Car Stolen, 2 Businesses Burglarized In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Two businesses were burglarized and a car was stolen from a parking lot, according to the Downers Grove crime blotter from mid-May.

Generator Stolen from Business

A generator was stolen when a business was burglarized in the 4800 block of Montgomery Avenue sometime between May 10 and May 11. A manager told police a Genrac portable generator was stolen, along with an employee's tool belt.

Big D Mart Burglarized on Woodward Avenue

Police say someone shattered the door of Big D Mart and stole several items. Officers were called to the 6300 block of Woodward Avenue on May 15 for a report of a burglary. Several boxes of cigarettes were reported stolen during the incident. According to police, a black SUV similar to a Jeep was seen leaving the scene after the burglary.

Car Stolen in 5200 Block of Main Street

A resident told police someone he was dating stayed over at his place and stole his car keys, gun and watch before stealing his car.
