Car Stolen From Autobody Shop In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A car was stolen from Downers Grove Auto Rebuilders after someone climbed in through a bathroom window to gain access to the building. .

Police were called to the facility at 721 Ogden Ave. around 7:45 a.m. Monday for a report of a burglary and motor vehicle theft. An employee told police he found broken glass in the building’s bathroom and noticed that someone had rifled through the shop’s drawers.

A Jeep Grand Cherokee and its recently painted bumper had been stolen, the employee told police. Authorities believe the car was stolen sometime between 12 p.m. Sept. 10 and the morning of Sept. 11.

The car was found in the 2900 block of Jackson Street in Chicago just before 4 p.m., according to police.
