Car Stolen In Downers Grove Found After Crash In Chicago
Police say the car was locked when it was stolen from outside a home in the 6300 block of Hathaway Lane.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A car that was stolen in Downers Grove was found in Chicago after it was involved in a crash, according to police.
The theft took place around midnight on March 1 in the 6300 block of Hathaway Lane. The victim told police they had parked their Volkswagen Jetta at their friend's house around 10 p.m. and noticed it was gone when they got ready to leave.
Police say the victim called the next day to see if the car had been towed and learned it had been involved in a crash in Chicago. According to police, the car was being stored at a lot on Sacramento Boulevard in the city.

The victim told police they had locked the car and they had the keys when it was stolen. The car was recovered and returned to the owner. A Chromebook was reported stolen from the vehicle.
