Car Stolen During Home Burglary In Downers Grove: Blotter

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A car was stolen when someone burglarized a garage in Downers Grove and other crimes were reported on the village's most recent police blotter.
Car Stolen from Home in 6800 Block of Valley View Drive
A car was stolen after someone broke into a garage in the 6800 block of Valley View Drive. Police were first alerted to the incident after a 2023 Hyundai Palisade was spotted speeding through Hinsdale. After police ran the plates on the car, they learned it was registered to a home at the aforementioned Downers Grove address.

When police got to the home, they noticed the garage door was open. A resident told them he believes someone got into their Toyota Camry and opened the garage before stealing the Hyundai, which had been left unlocked with the key fob inside.
The incident took place sometime between 12 a.m. and 3:49 a.m. on April 9.

Wheels Stolen from Car in 5700 Block of Walnut Avenue
Police say someone stole the wheels from a car that was parked in the lot at the Bristol Club Apartment complex. The victim told police she parked her car in the lot at 7:30 p.m. on April 11 and returned the following morning to find it was on paving blocks and the wheels had been removed.
Wheels Stolen from Car in 4000 Block of Saratoga Avenue
A woman told police she discovered her car wheels had been stolen and her car had been left on cinder blocks. The incident took place sometime between 7 p.m. on April 12 and 7 a.m. on April 13.
