Car Stolen, Store Burglarized: Downers Grove Crime Blotter

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A car was stolen, a store was burglarized and other crimes were reported on the Downers Grove crime blotter for the first week of September.

Car Stolen from Parking Lot

A Dodge Charger was stolen from a parking lot in the 3300 block of Finley Road on Sept. 9. The victim told police he parked his car around 3:15 p.m. When he returned to the parking lot around 5:12 p.m., he saw that his car was no longer there and noticed broken glass on the ground.

Car Burglarized in 2100 Block of Prentiss Drive

Police say a car was burglarized in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 2100 block of Prentiss Drive Monday. The incident took place sometime between 4 a.m. and 4:55 a.m. Wireless headphones were stolen, in addition to a wallet that contained $100 cash, a FOID card, a social security card and nine credit and debit cards.

Tobacco Store Burglarized

Tobacco products were stolen when someone burglarized Big D Mart, 6310 Woodward Ave. on Sept. 10. Police say surveillance footage shows a man throwing a concrete block through the store window around 11:14 p.m.
