Car Stolen, SUV Burglarized: Downers Grove Crime Blotter

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove police are investigating reports of a stolen car and a burglarized vehicle, according to the police department's crime blotter for the first week of November.

Car Stolen in 2000 block of Prentiss Drive

A resident told police their silver Kia Rio was stolen from outside their home. They told police they parked the car around 5 p.m. on Nov. 4 after they had gone out shopping. When they tried to leave for work around 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 5, they noticed the car was missing.

Car Burglarized in 6500 block of Puffer Road

An unlocked car was burglarized while it was parked in a lot in the 6500 block of Puffer Road on Nov. 4, police say. The incident took place sometime between 10:05 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. The resident told police they saw items scattered outside their Dodge Durango and noticed their rose gold iPhone XS and white iPhone 12 were missing from inside the SUV.
