Chamber630 Announces New benefit to Members

New Benefit of Chamber630 Membership

Chamber 630 is proud to announce yet another new benefit of Membership: a scholarship will be awarded to a Member or their student, furthering their education. This includes any employee (and their student) of any business that is a Chamber630 Member. Applications are now being accepted; up to $2500 may be awarded.

Funding has come from the legacy Young Professional Network and generous Members who have contributed to this program at various Chamber630 events. Again, this is a great benefit for a student who intends to go to a vocational or trade school, two or four year college or university in 2015. To complete an application, please visit www.Chamber630.com. The deadline for all applications is the end of business, March 16, 2015. Notification of scholarship recipients will be sent in late April.

The scholarship award recipients will be recognized at the May 13th Attainable Futures luncheon when 70 other students are recognized for completion of the workforce development program. Attainable Futures is a Chamber630 program that provides job readiness for high school students; it is extended to District 99 and other high schools and districts in the area. The students participate in half day sessions at various businesses locations. At each session, the students are taught a plethora of information including interview skills, mapping goals, communication skills, simple job expectations, importance of community involvement and much, much more. One session allows the opportunity for students to talk to 70 different business professionals, learning about a variety of careers.
