Decorated Halloween Houses to Visit in the Community

The following shows some of the best houses that you can drive by day or night.

My travels began in Glen Ellyn, IL, on Forest Avenue, just north of the First Congregational Church in Glen Ellyn. The house and yard were so completely decorated with gravestones and other Halloween decorations that I could not read the address, but what an amazing trip to take with your family to see during the day.

Another beautiful daytime trip took me to 703 Muirhead Court in Naperville, which is also called Muirhead Cemetery. They have a Facebook site that you can visit and have spent over 20 years decorating each year. They truly love decorating. The house has a detailed display of skeletons, monsters, ghosts, and, if you get too close, a talking witch.

Another evening trip took me to Pumpkin Lord’s Twisted Vines of Doom, 4440 Burgundy Place, Lisle, and they have some very scary and unique pumpkin vines. What I loved more was watching the young children and their parents share their excitement.

Moving on to Woodridge, IL, I visited 2924–2928 Brentwood, which offered an amazing family of dinosaurs that is 9 feet long and is actually a wedding of dinosaurs. There is also a fog machine. While still in Woodridge, I heard about a student home that was located at 1504 Pine Drive, but the entire street was a joy to visit. A very frightening monster greets the door of one house, and another has a flying witch. There are two pictures included.

Finally visiting my neighbors in Downers Grove. If you love pirates, It's A Pirates Life For Me is located at 4506 Fairview. Fairview Avenue is busy, but you can park on a side street. The house is located on a corner, and the detailed pirate exhibition reaches all the way from the front to the back of the house. Nightmare on Middaugh, 4724 Middaugh Ave., is a beautiful drive-by at night that features a ghost girl and strange spirits. Another great stop is 5235 Park Avenue, where the lights are moving and they actually have a bride and groom monster. Also, a neighbor at 1831 Concord offers great decor, and you can drive through the driveway. An outstanding witch greets you. I have always wanted a broom like that for my own private collection.
