District 58 Seeks Nominations For Distinguished Service Awards
Parents, students and staff can nominate District 58 employees whom they feel have had a positive impact on students and peers.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Parents, guardians, students and staff have an opportunity to recognize those employees whom they feel have made a positive impact on students and other employees in The Education Foundation of Downers Grove District 58 is accepting applications for its Distinguished Service Awards through March 29.
To be eligible, nominees must be employees of District 58 who work at least 20 hours weekly and have been employed with the district for an entire school year.
The awards seek to honor those staff members who serve as excellent role models and demonstrate consistent, holistic care for students.

"Recognizing teachers and educational staff not only boosts morale and motivation but also emphasizes the invaluable role they play in nurturing young minds and fostering a lifelong love for learning," Janet Alikpala, President of the Education Foundation of School District 58 told Patch in a statement.
Mia Churma, who chairs the Distinguished Service Awards, added, "Teacher and staff recognition awards celebrate and highlight the wonderful impact that educators have not only on their current students but in shaping future generations."
