District 99 Schools Ranked 'Commendable' By State Board

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — District 99 and its schools recently earned a "commendable" rating on the Illinois State Board of Education's (ISBE) School Report Card for 2022.

The report card analyzed such metrics as:

• Attendance
• Graduation rates
• Proficiency in English and math

The district illustrated improvement with its graduation rates. Attendance rates were lower, but district officials note that this is something they anticipated post-pandemic and are working to address.

“At District 99, we are proud that North High and South High are both highly rated schools in the state,” Superintendent Dr. Hank Thiele said in a statement.

Thiele added, “We value most of all each student’s unique path towards the future of their choosing and these metrics are inadequate at measuring this progress. In all ways we are always working to improve our performance and reach even higher levels of student outcomes.”
