Donate Items To Benefit Schools At Savers Event In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — If you're getting ready to clean out your closets and get rid of unwanted trinkets, lamps, and housewares as part of your spring cleaning routine, you can donate these goods at a special drive in Downers Grove to benefit local school. The 3rd Annual Savers Drive will take place on Saturday, April 21 at Prairieview Elementary School.

All items donated at the event will be sold to local Savers thrift stores. The donation money from the drive will be used to benefit programs at District 66 schools. In the past, the Savers Drive has helped made field trips, special learning labs, and STEM activities, according to a news release from event orgainzers Team 66 Education Foundation.

The Savers Drive will accept bagged items in the parking lot of Prairieview Elementary between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. on April 21. Team 66 Education foundation also notes that donations are tax deductible.
