Downers Grove Coronavirus Update: 6 Percent Increase In Past Week
As of Sept. 23, Downers Grove has seen 666 cases of coronavirus, according to DuPage County Health Department.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The number of coronavirus cases in Downers Grove has increased by 6 percent in the past week, according to information from the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD).
As of Sept. 16, the village had reported 631 total cases of the new coronavirus. Those numbers had increased to 666 as of Sept. 23.
In nearby Westmont, the number of coronavirus cases had increased by 2 percent. As of Sept. 16, there had been 542 cases reported in Westmont. The total number of cases reported in Westmont as of Sept. 23 was 555.

According to the DCHD website, there were no active coronavirus cases in Downers Grove as of Sept. 23. In contrast, there were 2 active cases in Downers Grove on Sept. 16. According to county health officials, these numbers could be "much higher" due to unreported cases.
DuPage County was recently taken off the coronavirus "warning list" by Illinois Department of Public Health.
