Downers Grove Holiday Tree Lighting On Nov. 24

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The Downers Grove Holiday Tree has been perched at Main Street Station just waiting for its thousands of lights and decorations to be illuminated. The big holiday lighting ceremony will take place on Friday, November 24 at 4:30 p.m.

At the ceremony, holiday carols will fill the air and guests can nibble on cookies and warm up with steaming apple cider.

The towering holiday tree was donated by Downers Grove resident Dan Fettig. It took a lot of help from the village to get the holiday tree cut down and several police escorts helped it make its way to Main Street Station.

Kids in Downers Grove handcrafted most of the original ornaments that will hang on this year's tree. The holiday tree will stand as a centerpiece at Main Street Station at 5001 Main St. throughout the holiday season, so if you can't make it on Nov.24, you'll still have plenty of time to see it sparkle.
