Downers Grove Holiday Tree Seeks Handmade Ornaments
Teachers, scout leaders, and families are encouraged to donate handmade ornaments for the village holiday tree by Nov. 10.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The Village of Downers Grove is collecting handmade ornaments to adorn its annual holiday tree. Teachers, parents, scout leaders, and daycare providers are encouraged to help children craft original ornaments for the tree and drop the ornaments off at the Public Works Department by Nov. 10.
- There are some guidelines for the holiday tree's handmade ornaments:
- Ornaments should be made of weatherproof material
- Ornaments must be at least 8 inches in diameter
- No pointy edges, sharp ends, or heavy materials
- Use 10-12 inch looped string or twine to hang the ornament
- Ornaments will not be returned
Please deliver the ornaments to Public Works at 501 Walnut Ave. by Nov. 10 to make sure they get added to the dazzling holiday tree display.
