Downers Grove North Band Heads To London For New Year's Parade

DOWNERS GROVE, IL --- Members of the Downers Grove North marching band will be ringing in the new year across the pond with a special performance. The students were selected to perform in the city's New Year's Day parade and have been practicing their routine for months in preparation for the special honor.

The students headed out with their instruments in tow right after Christmas aboard a flight to London. In a blog post, Downers Grove North officials said they were proud of how the students behaved on the long flight. "Flight crews and fellow-passengers were extremely complimentary of the way in which students carried themselves," DGN staff said in the post.

The students will step off on the parade route at 6 a.m. CST on New Year's Day and parents and friends can watch a live stream of the parade as the Downers Grove marchers join Londoners in ringing in 2019 in epic fashion.

Congratulations to the Downers Grove North marching band. We're sure it'll be a New Year's celebration to remember.
