DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The village of Downers Grove has planned a Halloween weekend filled with frights and other delights. The Oct. 26 and 27 Halloween Spooktacular includes a living cemetery, a costume contest, and trick-or-treating.

Halloween Window Painting
From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., kids in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade can grab their paintbrushes and gather paints at 933A Curtiss Street to help paint the windows of downtown Downers Grove with colorful Halloween scenes.

Those who want to take part must bring their own paint brush and are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to FISH pantry.
Hotel Transylvania , Costume Contest
Head to the Tivoli Theatre at 5021 Highland Avenue at 9 a.m. to register for the costume contest. for kids 12 and younger. The judging starts at 10 a.m. Stick around to see a free showing of Hotel Transylvania at 11 a.m.
Living Cemetery
From 10 a.m. to noon, you can see ghosts and ghouls of early Downers Grove come to life at Main Street Cemetery in a special performance by members of the Herrick Drama Club.
Oct. 27
Trick-or-Treating, Halloween Party
What better way to celebrate Halloween than by trick-or-treating in downtown Downers Grove. A Halloween celebration is set for 12 p.m. at Fishel Park and kids can trick-or-treat at downtown businesses from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
