Downers Grove Rotary Offers Music Scholarships
Eligible seniors can win a grant of at least $4,000 to help further their music education.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove Rotary is offering music scholarships high school seniors who live in the Community Unit School District 99 area. Eligible students can win cash scholarship funds or a grant of a "at least $4,000," a news release said.
To be eligible, students must:
- Be a graduating senior who attends a public, private, home or parochial school in the District 99 area
- Have plans for post-secondary education
- Have taken part in extracurricular or in-school music activities
In addition to musicians, composers and arrangers may also apply.

Established in 2009, the Downers Grove Rotary's music scholarships are awarded in memory of founding member Charles Dickerman, who was an "avid bagpiper" and held degrees in music and physics, the news release said.
