Downers Grove Shooting: Investigation Continues as Community Waits for Details
Police have not released the name of the man shot Monday in Downers Grove on the 2300 block of Maple. The investigation is ongoing.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove residents are still in the dark about exactly what motivated a shooting at the 2300 block of Maple on Monday. The shooting took place around 2:45 p.m., according to police, and the suspect fled the area. Because the investigation is ongoing, olice have yet to release details about the victim or the suspect of the shooting beyond informing the public that the shooter knew the victim.
Patch arrived at the scene to discover a police line was blocking off an astrology center. Police on the scene would not release details. That evening, comments poured in from community members who were eager to find out more information about the nature of the crime and the whereabouts of the suspect.

Later that evening, Sgt. Bob Harris, who is the Community Resource Unit Supervisor at DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, said they were unable to provide further details. On Tuesday, the Sheriff’s Office reported that the victim and the shooter were acquainted and that the shooter had fled and was not a threat to residents the area.
As of Wednesday, the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office has not responded to requests for additional comments.
